Cookery evening with Le Creuset and Silwood kitchen

Last Thursday evening I and a couple of other food bloggers attended a hands-on cooking class at Silwood Kitchen in Rondebosch, Cape Town. Silwood won the 2011 CITY AND GUILDS cookery school skills challenge and the 2010 SHOWCOOK Inter-school’s competition. Their courses are internationally recognised and they are regarded as one of the best chef training institutions in South Africa. After this evening I can totally understand why they are so highly valued. The facilities are excellent and our instructor for the evening Gary and his two assistants were professional and very helpful.

The evening was sponsored by Le Creuset and I don’t think they need to be introduced to any foodie. Le Creuset’s products are highly sought after because of the exceptional quality, superior materials and innovative design of the products. Couple this with the wide and vibrant range of colours that the products are available in and you have absolute beautiful and winning products. To see more about the wide range of products available from Le Creuset, please visit http://www.lecreuset.co.za/

I took this Picture of the Le Creuset stand at the 2011 Good Food and Wine show in Cape Town: Cookery evening with Le Creuset and Silwood kitchen sam 7131

We made the following dishes:

Stuffed Chicken breast with a wine sauce: Cookery evening with Le Creuset and Silwood kitchen chicken

Bread and Butter Cappuccino’s (the ramekins was a gift from Le Creuset): Cookery evening with Le Creuset and Silwood kitchen dessert

If you would like to read more about the evening go to the Squashed tomato’s post about the evening or Real men can cook’s post or I’m no Jamie Oliver’s post!

I would like to thank Le Creuset (especially Gill Macgregor), Silwood Cookery School and the food bloggers for making this a fun filled and highly enjoyable evening.

Your photos are incredible. I think you’re the only one of us who was disciplined enough to take gorgeous photos the next day.

It was really lovely meeting you and cooking with you. The world is very small indeed.
