Curry Banana frikkadelle

Meatballs with a curry banana sauce
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 125ml milk
  • 600g beef mince
  • 5ml ground coriander
  • 2.5ml ground cloves
  • 2.5ml ground nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 bananas sliced into strips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 15ml butter
  • 15ml curry powder
  • 7.5ml sugar
  • 15ml corn flour
  • 60ml vinegar
  • 15ml fine apricot jam
  • 125ml water
  • 2 bananas, minced
  1. Pre-heat oven to 160ÂșC.
  2. Soak the bread in the milk and press the milk out.
  3. Mix the soaked bread with the mince, coriander, cloves, nutmeg and salt and roll into meatballs.
  4. Place the meatballs into a buttered oven dish with the banana strips inbetween.
  5. Heat the butter in a saucepan and fry the onions until soft.
  6. Add the curry and sugar and fry another minute or two.
  7. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
  8. Pour the sauce over the frikadelle.
  9. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes.
  10. Serve with some rice and a mixed salad.
