Since I’ve been old enough to consume alcohol, gin and tonic has always been one of my preferred drinks. As far as gin goes, I definitely favour Tanqueray’s London Dry gin. Although gin and tonic is the traditional way to drink gin, there are many more ways in which to enjoy gin!
A few months ago I was invited to the Lindt studio for a pairing of Lindt chocolates and Tanqueray gin based cocktails. It was an absolute feast! We fixed our own cocktails and subsequently enjoyed drinking them with a suitable Lindt chocolate. Think Ginger Cosmopolitan with Lindt Excellence Chilli Chocolate or an Apple-Mint Mojito paired with Lindt Excellence Mint Intense!
Here are some of the recipes of the cocktails we made that night:
Crush some ginger and fresh basil leaves in a shaker. Add 25ml Tanqueray London dry gin with 50ml pineapple purée and 50ml Apple juice. Shake, strain and pour into a Martini glass over crushed ice. Pair with Lindt Excellence Chilli.
Crush 2 cubes of apple with 25ml sugar syrup in a mixing glass. Add 25ml Tanqueray London dry gin, 8 fresh mint leaves and 25ml lemon juice. Stir gently and strain into a tall glass filled with ice and top up with sparkling water. Pair with Lindt Excellence Mint Intense.
Add 25ml Tanqueray London dry gin, 50ml coconut water, 10ml lime juice and 10ml honey to a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a chilled tall glass. Pair with Lindt Excellence Coconut Intense.

Tanqueray Gin and Lindt chocolate, with one or two recipes for original cocktails would make an excellent Christmas gift. Another gift to consider is the limited edition Tanqueray Malacca Gin, which won Spirit of the Year at the Mixology Bar Awards.
